Welcome back to all our supporters of the Rothwell Preservation Trust!

We’re continuing our new series across social media and website:

“From the Archives…” celebrating images of our iconic Market House through the years.

Whether you’ve lived in Rothwell all your life (and seen most of the existing pictures in various places!) or just moved in to the area, we hope there will be something for everyone. 👌

Today’s is the second in our series, dated around 1827. It is a pencil drawing by JC Buckler that captures a lot of detail of our most iconic building. Note of course – no roof, no doors and no windows! (yet!) 😮

Another illustration in TWO weeks!

(We’re now resting our ‘Fascinating Facts’ series for a while whilst we look for additional nuggets of information – watch this space).

We’d like to thank Northamptonshire Archive Service and our good friends at Rothwell Arts & Heritage Centre for their help in collating the content – one a week for the next few months. 😁

If you have any images of the Market House – especially if they’re unusual, drop us a line and we’ll cross-check it with what we have lined up and let you know. We look forward to hearing from you! Contact us HERE

Thanks for following us across our online platforms. Using Facebook, Instagram or subscribing to our website is the easiest way to stay on top of everything the Trust is involved in.

As many of you know, the Market House needs a major makeover. The roof is leaking and must be replaced soon, so why not help us preserve Rothwell’s most recognisable building for future generations by making a donation – Thank you! Our Fundraising Page is HERE.
