Welcome back to the Rothwell Preservation Trust’s weekly Post – keeping you up-to-date about the Trust and its buildings!
We’re continuing our new series across social media and here, on our website: “From the Archives…”, celebrating images of our iconic Market House through the years.
Whether you’ve lived in Rothwell all your life (and seen most of the existing pictures in various places!) or just moved in to the area, we hope there will be something for everyone. 👌

Today, we’re pleased to present the NINTH in our series. 👏👍
From a Postcard, dated 1906, this monochrome image is simply labelled ‘The Market House, Rothwell, Northants.’ That’s all we know. Was it part of a series? If so, how many others were there? Maybe it was a ‘one-off’? If you can shed a light on this, drop us a line. ✍

Can you help the Trust?
If you have any images of the Market House – especially if they’re unusual – drop us a line and we’ll cross-check it with what we have lined up and let you know. We look forward to hearing from you! Contact us at [email protected] or leave a message below.
Thanks for following us across our online platforms. Using Facebook, Instagram or subscribing to our website is the easiest way to stay on top of everything the Trust is involved in.

As many of you know, the Market House needs a major makeover. The roof is leaking and must be replaced soon, so why not help us preserve Rothwell’s most recognisable building for future generations by making a donation – Thank you! – Our Fundraising Page is HERE.
We’d like to thank Northamptonshire Archive Service
and our good friends at Rothwell Arts & Heritage Centre for their help
in collating the content for this series 😁.
